From Kyle of Lochalsh the path passes Eileen Donan castle on Loch Duart before heading into the wilderness of Knoydart. It follows the south shores of the loch before passing near the narrow straits that separate Skye from the mainland at Kyle Rhea. From here the coastal route goes through the highland village of Glenelf before following the road deep into Loch Hourn where it ends at Corran.
